We hope that everyone's been having a great summer. For us, it's coming close and then back to school we go! This week, we had a chance to work with one of the new AltaLink devices, here in our office. We were able to add the App Gallery and gain a better understanding of some of its unique features.
A while back, you may rememeber, we had a chance to work with the Xerox App Gallery. Our goal was to be able to fully understand each of the apps and their features. This helps us, and the sales team translate those functions into value for Xerox customers.
One of our tasks this week was to visit a current customer and help them install an app. The Print@PrintByXerox app would allow customers who go into the store to print to the device. Instead of waiting for a fax or having all the customers sign onto their network connection, the app is the easiest and most productive way to print. It works by creating an account for each customer, having the customer send their document to the app and the employee will use the customer's login credentials to print. With every customer having their own logins, it's easier to track what's being printed. Customers don't have to be at that location when they choose to send their documents, it's from wherever. Their only task is to notify the employee that their document has been sent and ready to be printed.
Xerox has just launched a new and innovative print technology; it can print your designs directly onto various objects. The capabilities of the device is unique to Xerox, and has a bit of a "Wow" factor. The equipment can operate at 30 cycles per hour, plus you can have more than one object in a cycle. The resolution of the prints is 1200 x 1200 dpi, giving you a high quality finish. The device is fitted with a window in the door that allows people to see the unit at work - to learn more, check it out here: https://youtu.be/YWfWSci_0dw
This past week we decided to use our efforts towards updating our emailing list. From all the places we've visited through cold-calls, we've received business cards with email addresses. We added all the new contacts and transferred others from our CRM database. This will work to reach as many future customers as we can. Our monthly newsletter goes out via email at the end of the month, and more businesses will be able to read what Xerox has in store. For example, most people wouldn't know about Xerox launching their Direct Object Printing machine, so the newsletter will display new technology and ways office technology can be put to more productive use.
